“Employees Program: Barter your Books with Reusable Shopping Bag”
According to www.ocean conservancy Inc. every year, 28-billion pounds of plastic ends up in our ocean. Seals get caught in discarded fishing gear and die trying to free themselves. Dolphins mistake plastic bags for their next meal and die eating them. Fish ingest deflated balloons and choke to death. But it doesn’t need to be this way. If we take action now, we can reduce plastic in the ocean by 45 per cent, saving ocean life, making our ocean cleaner and our earth healthier.
In the same vein, World Wild Fund (WWF) charge plastics that not dispose correctly as one off pollutant that injure the ocean life. WWF said: Plastic garbage, which decomposes very slowly, is often mistaken for food by marine animals. High concentrations of plastic material, particularly plastic bags, have been found blocking the breathing passages and stomachs of many marine species, including whales, dolphins, seals, puffins, and turtles. Plastic six-pack rings for drink bottles can also choke marine animals. This garbage can also come back to shore, where it pollutes beaches and other coastal habitats.
In accordance with the spirit of Profit- people and Planet that always put in mind, Sintesa’s employee collecting their Children book (new/used books) and donated it to scavenger’s children. In return, the corporate gave reusable shopping bags. The morals of this program are: First, employees were educating to delivered their empathy as one of Corporate Values by donating their books. Secondly, the employees were expetedly bring their reusable shopping bag when shopping, since the bags were travel size. To be further the action wishfully contributes to the zero plastics waste. Last but not the least, the scavenger children were beyond happy to have such a variety of children books & literature. This was show how a simple act can bring various benefit.
