Sustainability is the heart and soul of our transformation in Sintesa Group. It aligns with our business fundamental principle of People, Planet, and Prosperity, and it is our vision to contribute to the benefit of the society. We see sustainability not merely as action on corporate responsibility but rather as a strategic imperative; shifting focus from business efficiency alone towards innovation that creates sustainable value.
To ensure our contribution to sustainable operations and investments, Sintesa Group underwent a significant transformation by embracing the vision of Sustainable Excellence since 2019. The pandemic further compelled us to take swift action on our strategic sustainability commitments, expanding them in 2020.
Against this backdrop, we developed our own SDGs Roadmap called “Sintesa for the Earth”. It is our company’s solid commitment in paving the way to contribute to impact investing as well as operational impact. Sintesa for The Earth serves as our compass in implementing sustainable values into our business models and value chains
We incorporated sustainability principles to expand our business portfolio towards the lens of sustainable investment, through our business model: Sintesa Energy, Sintesa Health Sintesa Eco-Tourism as well as contributing to operation impact through our subsidiaries.
SDGs are the catalyst of our transformation. As sustainability is a concept that can be attributed to any action, process, or business line, it has the potential to decrease costs and business risks, which are crucial in ensuring that the family business can sustain, stay resilient and agile.

To improve working conditions for all employees across our subsidiaries, we ensure to provide health insurance and health care services. We also encourage our subsidiaries to provide on-site clinic on every working place to make contributions for employee’s health, safety and well being.
To achieve gender equality within the workplace, Sintesa Group is committed to encouraging our subsidiaries to actively take part in Women's Empowerment Principles from the UN Global Compact as gender equality is part of human rights.
In realizing our pursuit to protect and conserve water resources, Sintesa Group is committed to ensuring the availability and sustainability of water and sanitation. This is achieved through our water management approaches across our industry pillars, under 3R methods: Reducing, Reusing and Reaching. We have made sure that intensive control and monitoring are applied in order to reduce water usage in our day-to-day operation.
As we are managing a clean and renewable energy business portfolio, Sintesa Group is committed to minimizing carbon footprint and preventing hazardous waste disposal during our operation. The Proper Certification from the Ministry of Environment is the proof of commitment that Sintesa Group has conducted utmost initiatives to make an impact on the environment.
Located in Special Economic Zones Likupang, Sintesa Group is committed to develop Pulisan Bay in alignment with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Environmental Principles for Sustainable Tourism. Pulisan Bay will amplify the contribution of sustainable tourism through empowering and involving local communities in almost all aspects of the area development from agro business, biodiversity, local wisdom, nature preservation, culture, local products, culinary, employment as well as operational.
Organic food wastes collected at our hospitality properties are placed where their nutrients are needed and utilized the most - in soil. Food scraps are segregated at the source and then deposited into available green areas for in-soil nutrient recycling, which assists with plant growth and health in the long term.
